Dr. Lillian K. Cooper is the principal of COPE Center North Alternative School. She is certified in English, Reading, Elementary Education and Elementary and Secondary School Administration. Dr. Cooper earned a Masters degree from the University of Michigan and an Ed.D degree in Educational Leadership from Nova Southwestern University. She has been an educator for 33 years and an administrator for 18 years: serving on the elementary, middle and senior high levels.

Dr. Cooper has worked arduosly toward moving student achieve as she worked with the principals in Regional Center III for three years on improving student achievement. She was appointed principal of Miami Park Elementary school during the 2007-08 school year, where through her leadership student achievement soared.

The school grade increased from an "F" on the A+ school grading system for the state of Florida, to that of a" C" this past year. Also, she was instrumental helping to posture the school to expand its science offerings by becoming a school wide SECME school, and initiated magnet Engineering and Technology focus.
