The original COPE, headed by Mr. Henry Goa, was located at 1743 N. W. 54th Street. The site was chosen because of its accessibility and anonymity. The current location is 9950 N. W. 19th Avenue.

COPE was officially open in 1969. There has been several principals who brought valued leadership to the school. The longest serving administrator and now principal, Ms. Mary Richards, has brought stability, vision, innovative programs and strong leadership in the areas of academics and child care.

The program enjoys the many successes of its students and soon-to-be nationally certified nurturing center.
